Leadership Team

Having served as Parent Governor representative on the Step Academy Committee for Telscombe Cliffs since 2023, Ben Cove took on the additional role of Chair of Governors ahead of the academic year 2025/26. 

A former Telscombe Cliffs pupil back in the 1990s, life has gone full circle for Ben as he now has three children enrolled at Telscombe Cliffs Academy at various stages of their educational journeys.

Following his time as a pupil at Telscombe Cliffs, Ben went on to secondary school, took A-levels at college and achieved an Honours degree at university, before embarking on his professional career: first in newspaper and magazine journalism and then, for the past 14 years, in digital marketing and strategic business leadership for international organisations related to sport and media. 

His role as a volunteer governor is to work alongside Mr Ediss and the senior leadership team, providing support and a parent’s vantage point at the strategic level of management within Telscombe Cliffs Academy.

In doing so, Ben is also specifically responsible for oversight of the Academy's Pupil Premium and Sport Premium allocations, and he is passionate about increasing physical education, active lifestyles and competitive sports provision for our pupils.
